Hello.
I can now confirm that the 10 week beginners course due to start on the 22nd of September 2025 in Boroughmuir High School has been confirmed and will now go ahead. I'm looking forward to meeting all the students who have registered for the course. See you all next Monday.
I'm still waiting on confirmation of the one day course at Broughton High School on Saturday the 4th of October 2025 and will update you as soon as I can.
About the Course
This is how Paul Strand (1890-1976) defined the art of photography.
"…how you build a picture, what a picture consists of, how shapes are related to each other, how spaces are filled, how the whole thing must have unity."
For me this is about the best definition of composition I've come across and we'll be looking at the 'things' that make up composition as we go through the course. We'll also cover camera controls and settings, exposure and focus and much more. There is also sessions on capturing, managing and manipulating images.
